Introduction:
Zovirax is a drug is commonly used for the treatment for Shingles, herpes simplex and many other infectious diseases. However, this drug is not a complete cure for these diseases but it helps to heal Shingle rashes, cold sores etc quickly. Zovirax drug is helpful to reduce growth and to control the infectious viruses. Zovirax is definitely an active drug but it has its own adverse effects. Agitation, hallucinations, seizures, unusual bruising and allergic reactions are the serious side effects of Zovirax drug, Allergic reactions such as intense itching, rashes, unexplained swelling and hives are the common and serious side effects of this drug.
Adverse effects of Zovirax drug:
Zovirax cream also causes severe side effects and severe allergic reactions. There are many allergic reactions such as swelling of the mouth, lips, face and dizziness. Flaking of the skin where the cream is applied. Use of Zovirax Ointment is helpful in curing genital herpes or cold sores in people with normal immune system. This ointment may cause stinging, burning and redness. Up to 2.7 percent people suffer from Diarrhea and up to 2.2 people suffer from headache due to administration of zovirax drug. However causes general ill feeling and vomiting. These are common side effects of Zovirax. Fever, water retention, shakiness, muscle pain, hair loss, sensitivity to the sun and vision changes can be found in people.
There are many serious side effects of Zovirax such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, headache and swelling in hands or feet.
The most common side effects of Zovirax are pain in lower back, urinating less or not at all, easy bleeding and weakness.
Many side effects are seen from using Zovirax tablets, such as pain in abdominal cavity, severe watery and bloody Diarrhea, skin reactions, difficulty in breathing (Usually termed as bronchial Asthma ), allergic reactions like rashes and severe itching, fever, fatigue, abnormal reaction of the skin to light, decrease in the number of white blood cells, kidney pain and drowsiness. Decrease in number of white blood cells result in decrease of body immunity as they produce phagocytes that engulf bacteria and protect the body.
Shingles, chickenpox and genital herpes are caused by viruses but they can be controlled by the use of Zovirax. Zovirax is an antiviral drug. However, it is not a cure for some infections. Musculoskeletal, alopecia, rash, urticaria and toxic epidermal necrolysis are the other Zovirax side effects.
The most common side effects found from using Zovirax drug:
Cracked lips, burning, trouble in breathing, dizziness, dark urine, urination, pain at injection site, painful urination, peeling skin, blistered, vomiting and yellowing of the skin. Many eye problems are seen from using Zovirax tablets. Yellowing of eye is found and is common side effects of Zovirax. Yellowing of eye is due to not diffusing bilirubin. This may further cause jaundice.
